Happy February

Hi Beautifuls!

Hope all is well in your world. I am astonished that we are already in February- this year is already going too fast!

I thought I was due an update…

I’m totally addicted to these chocolate bars: Chok-a-blok. They come in various flavours- my fave is the Eton Mess.

I also found cookies and crème Pop Tarts, Reese’s sticks and Arizona Lemon Tea (perfect for cheat day).

Since I last wrote, I’ve been ill. *sobs*

However, I have been given the perfect remedy to help a cough… Rub Vapour Rub over the soles of your feet before going to sleep. I know it sounds insane… But it works, especially well with the cough pastilles- didn’t even finish the first sheet of pastilles. A word of warning, rubbing the vapour rub in your feet will make your feet greasy (no good for on laminate floor or carpet!) so keep some wet wipes nearby for your greasy hands as there’s nothing worse than fluff sticking to your feet. The rub also leaves your feet feeling soft. From a lymphoedema point of view, it didn’t affect my lymphie limb at all, which is fab, as that was one thing I was cautious about.

In the meantime I also bought some scented candles to take away from the smell of the vapour rub. Adore the Bermuda Beach Yankee Candle and the ‘Laugh’ Pink Lemonade and Peach scented tin from Tesco.

On 31st January, I headed down to Cardiff Sports Nutrition Birthday Bash. What a great morning. Fantastic advice from sports professionals and fitness models. So many great offers available too! Keeps your eyes peeled for the next one! I think I went slightly overboard!

Valentine’s Day, I treated myself to a morning of shopping and coffee. It started with a trip to Lush for a Butterball Bath Bomb. Followed by hunting possible summer trends, picking up a copy of the Comic Relief ‘Elle’ magazine and ending with a coffee in Waterstone’s Café W. I adore the kitsch décor  and the surrounding of books!

The Butterball is my favourite Bath Bomb from Lush (I know you’ve come across me raving about their products in the past). It is made with Shea Butter, meaning it leaves your skin silky smooth and soft. I find it really softens my tough lymphie skin leaving no rashes etc. as it is all natural. It doesn’t stain your bath either like some other brands, it doesn’t leave your water pretty pink and glittery, it deals with your skin. It starts by fizzing and releasing blobs of Shea Butter into the water, the butter then melts leaving it to moisturise your skin. This is what I love about this product. It does exactly what it says it will do, no frills, just a brilliant product.

I’m pleased with how my leg is looking recently, I’ve been bandaging post gym as it’s been too cold to bandage and wear shorts! But it has still been having the desired effect. My leg is the best it’s looked in ages…I can even fit it inside boots with jeans. Really proud of how hard I’ve worked to get to this point. This is the outfit I wore shopping.

Ralph Lauren Polo Rugby Shirt, H&M Khaki Jeans, Matalan Fringed Boots, Mango Skull Scarf.

Keep your eyes peeled for the review of the Dove Summer Glow Moisturiser. Hopefully it will work well as it’s hard to find a winter tan balance; not wanting to look as though you are Casper the ghost but also not looking like an orange!

Lots of Love

  1. Hello!
I am so happy to find this blog! Like you, I’m a twenty-something teacher with lymphoedema who cares a lot about looking fashionable while wearing my compression pantyhose or bandages. I have never met anyone else under 35 with this condition, (I live in northern Norway, it’s not a very crowded place..) and I will follow your blog. So nice to read something relatable!
